Lucy Her Name , And She Will Win Your Heart
Looking at Lucy and hearing her story would make even the strongest person cry. She has lived a horrible, painful life. A life no animal should have to endure. The beatings she took from her former owner were so bad that her nose and jaw were broken and since they were not properly set, they healed like this. To correct it, the bones would have to be broken and reset, which would be awful. But she doesn’t need to go through that, because Lucy is beautiful, special, and unique in her own way.
Some of her teeth were pulled so she could not fight off male dogs during repeated matting’s. She was able to get away but then found herself on the streets, emaciated and pregnant until someone saved her.The vet who examined her found her uterus was twisted and had to make a decision to save her or her babies. He picked her. It was determined to be her fifth or sixth pregnancy. Her rescuer was told that she was used as a submissive dog to train aggression in fighting dogs.
This poor girl has had one sad, tragic, and tortured life so far.
She is now looking for a forever home where she can find the love, caring, acceptance, and safety she’s missed out on so far.
They say she is shy with strangers, never aggressive, and needs to build up confidence with dogs and people, but she’s just the sweetest girl who loves belly rubs. She is now spayed, up-to-date on shots, and has no trouble eating.
She is currently in boarding in New York and needs our help to find her special someone to take her home to receive unconditional love and happiness. This girl deserves nothing but that from this day forward.

Your Dog Ate What???
Not Only Is What They Consume Scary, It’s Very Expensive To Have Removed

A golf ball, a fish hook, a sewing needle, a toy dinosaur and a rubber duck are not necessarily the type of things that you would expect to find in an X-ray of your dog’s stomach.
One dog even swallowed a tube sock, something that veterinarians told CBS 2′s Maurice DuBois that they see all the time.
“One of the really dangerous objects are some of the things in the hamper,” one vet said.
Dogs like to eat clothing, like socks and underwear, because it carries the scent of their owners. But consuming those items can be dangerous, even life threatening, according to experts.
“It can get stuck in the stomach, go into the small intestine and is can cause bunching up of the small intestine and even lead to a perforation,” a vet said.
These accidents do not just happen when your back is turned either. They can happen in the blink of an eye, right in front of your face.
Mary Bottino’s poodle, “Mocha,” recently swallowed a gold crucifix.
“The dog immediately grabbed it, and he chased her, and she ran, and she basically swallowed it whole,” she explained.
The Bottinos rushed their dog to the vet to have the cross removed. They said the experience wasn’t only scary, it was expensive.
When Mary Buffington’s dog “Tonka” swallowed a tennis ball it cost $20,000 to remove it from the 160-pound Newfoundland.
“He chews it and chews it and chews it until it pops and then he swallows it,” she said.
To prevent future medical expenses, Tonka was given a special muzzle to wear when tennis balls are present.
Veterinarians told CBS 2 that balls are one of the most common items for dogs to eat, but that they can swallow just about anything. A set of dentures, a spoon, a fork and a baby pacifier have all been found inside dogs’ stomaches.
Experts said that if your dog is vomiting, not eating, or not going to the bathroom regularly then you should take them to the vet.
Before You Go To Heaven
I HAVE THE UP MOST RESPECT FOR ASHLEY OWEN HILL ,God Bless you .This story had me crying for hours ,even hours later .I don’t thank I could have done what she did .I wish I could.
I was asked to share the story about what I do for special needs dogs on death row in shelters. I do realize that this might not be the most popular idea with all of you, but I’m hoping that maybe it will inspire someone to do the same. If you ever have the chance to do this, it will change your life.
When there are terminally ill dogs on death row, I’ve made the decision to do something very special for them. Since the decision to treat these dogs for their conditions would cause them immense suffering, I choose not to treat them. However, I also choose not to leave them in the shelter to be killed. In short, I bring them into my home for a few days. I adopt them into my heart. I love them with all that I have. And then I do what’s best for them… and let them go…
Annie’s Story, September 2010
Annie had never known happiness. She had been beaten, starved, and neglected all of her life, and then she was dumped in a shelter to die. Annie waited on death row, terrified and lonely, crying every night for someone to help her. She was very ill, so the pound asked if I was willing to take her. Yep, I’m on my way.
When I saw Annie, it was obvious that she was very sick. She was underweight, coughing, and having trouble breathing, in addition to skin and eye issues. The vet told me that Annie had advanced heart-worm disease, congestive heart failure, and several other severe medical conditions. It was highly unlikely that she would pull through any of the treatments, and she would suffer tremendously throughout the process. The vet asked me if I wanted to go ahead with euthanasia. I replied: “Not yet. I’ll bring her back next week. Before she goes to Heaven, Annie needs to know love.”
That day, I brought Annie home with me. I looked at her… so broken, so sickly, so unsure of whether she could trust… and I cried. I sobbed uncontrollably for Annie. Over the sad life she had led, the abuse she had endured, and now the life she would never have, thanks to the worthless people who never cared for her. And while I was bawling like a baby, Annie walked over and licked my tears, as if to say: “Don’t be sad. It’ll be okay.” This precious, wounded soul was comforting me. This girl, who had never known compassion in her life, was consoling me.
And so, I got up, stopped my crying, and vowed to give her the best week of her entire life. No more crying. Not around Annie. She deserves to know only happiness now.
That week, Annie slept in the bed with me. She ate the best food. She played as much as her little heart could stand. She laid next to me on the couch for belly rubs. She laughed at funny movies with me.
That week, Annie was special. That week, Annie was home, for the first time in her life.
Every day, Annie and I sat on my special bench by Rudy’s grave and talked to him. I told Rudy that he would have a new friend in Heaven soon, and asked him to take care of her. I told Rudy all about Annie, and Annie all about Rudy. Annie loved our talks with Rudy. She loved anything that involved love… she’d never had it before.
When Annie got so weak that it was painful for her to live, I took her to the vet to end her suffering. I stayed with her, I comforted her… and Annie wasn’t afraid. She was happy, because I was there with her. Her mom was by her side… the only family she had ever known. The only person who had ever truly loved her. She was finally safe.
Annie knew it was time… it hurt too much to go on. And I was there to hold her, to love her, to say, “It’s okay. You can go now, baby girl.” And as they stuck her with the needle, I whispered into her ear:
“Know that I loved you. Know that you mattered. Know that you finally belonged to someone—you were everything to me. You will never really be gone, because you will live forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your last days with me. It was truly an honor to love you.”
As the drugs entered Annie’s veins, she looked up at me one last time, and her eyes said:
“Thank you for saving me. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for showing me what life could be like… for giving me a family. I always wanted one. I love you.”
And before she closed her eyes forever, I said: “When you get to Heaven, ask for Rudy. Tell him I sent you.”
And then… she was gone.
I buried Annie in my backyard next to Rudy. She died on September 14, 2010. But the week before her death, she finally lived.
A broken Spirit
I lay down bleeding ,bruised, and sore-broken spirit, just like before.
Can’t he see my pain, my fright? I want to play, and love – not fight.
I see his hand as it comes down, and as he speaks I can hear his frown.
I shrink down closer to the floor, but I know just what is in store.
I whimper softly, though in vain. My punishment – a four foot chain.
Left outside for seven days. No food, no water, eyes that glaze.
I rest my eyes, close them tight, trying to forget my plight.
As I open them again, there is no grass, there is no chain.
I see your hand as it comes down, to pat my head, call me a clown.
You laugh and tell me how I snore, then you hug me, and pat me more.
“It was only a dream!” I think with a sigh, and thank the big man up in the sky.
The pain I endured, it led you to me, and FINALLY “I” am a part of a “WE”.
My heart beats “I love you”. I hope you can hear it.
There is not many out there that can mend a broken spirit.

Make Dog Fighting a Felony
ALL States and Seize their Assets. Dog Fighting should be a felony in ALL States. They should seize the assets (homes, vehicles, personal property of any value) and distribute the value of those assets to rehabilitate and rescue animals. They take the assets of drug dealers and other criminals, why not dog fighters? There also needs to be stronger laws in place against dog fighting. Two years (the time Michael Vick served) for the killing and mutilation of many dogs just isn’t enough.Too many states do absolutely nothing but a slap on the wrist to those who abuse and torture animals. The lease we can do is be a voice for the voiceless!Love For Animals Is Ageless
“Animals help patients keep their mind off their problems,” says , the director of nurses. “The love the patients get from the animals is unconditional.” One particular stroke patient was withdrawn and rarely smiled, until she began to play with the resident cat. The patient and the cat became closely bonded to each other, and when the cat had kittens, “they became like the patient’s babies,” according to the director. The kittens played and slept on a tray on the resident’s wheelchair and slept in a chair near her bed whenever they could. The kittens brought the resident out of her shell and she began to talk and smile. “The kittens in particular get all the residents’ attention,” says the director . “Everyone always wants to know where they’re at and what they’re doing.” When there are kittens in the building, a number of residents stay busy all day, following them, playing with them, and keeping an eye on them.Morning Animal Welfare Prayer
Heavenly Father, we know that You will receive many earthly requests today and we know that all prayers are equally very important to You. Dear Lord, You have favored us with Your precious creations in this earth and have given us the task of caring for them. Please help us help Your be…loved animals by ending their strife and suffering on this earth, not by allowing those who would take them from this earth and us but, by giving them the same gift of a happy, loving life on earth You have given us the opportunity to enjoy. Lord, please heal and help Your creations who are injured, ill, unloved and mistreated by mankind. Please make them safe and whole again. We ask this in Your name. AMEN.
